The disassembly and assembly of cylinder head belongs to the core maintenance process of the engine. Whether the operation is standardized or not directly affects the sealing performance and the service life of the whole machine. If there are slight omissions in the disassembly and assembly process, it is easy to cause faults such as air leakage, cylinder head deformation, and valve damage. The following text outlines the key points to be noted to ensure the safe completion of disassembly and assembly operations.
1、 Preparation before dismantling
Before starting construction, let the vehicle stand still until the engine has completely cooled down to prevent high-temperature disassembly and cracking of the cylinder head due to sudden cooling. Drain the coolant and engine oil in sequence, remove the intake and exhaust pipes, fuel injection pipes, ignition circuit, and various sensor connectors, mark the circuit and pipeline to avoid connecting the wrong parts during restoration. Properly store small items such as bolts and washers, classify and place them to prevent loss and mixing.
2、 Specification for bolt disassembly sequence
It is strictly prohibited to loosen the cylinder head bolts on one side at a time. Follow the principle of cross loosening from both sides to the middle and release the cylinder head pressure evenly. If the order is reversed, it can easily cause uneven stress on the cylinder head and result in warping and deformation. After removing all bolts, lift the cylinder head smoothly to avoid bumping the valve and cylinder head sealing surfaces.
3、 Accessory inspection and cleaning
After disassembly, thoroughly clean the joint surface between the cylinder head and cylinder block, remove residual sealant, carbon deposits, and scale, and ensure that the joint surface is flat and clean. Carefully inspect the cylinder head for cracks, whether the surface is deformed, and whether the valves and valve seats are worn or damaged. It is recommended to replace old cylinder gaskets, sealing gaskets, and bolts directly, and aging parts cannot be reused.
4、 Installation and fastening core requirements
Place a brand new cylinder gasket and align it with the positioning hole to ensure accurate positioning. After reinstalling the cylinder head, tighten the bolts diagonally from the middle to both sides in stages, strictly following the original factory torque standard for step-by-step tightening, and prohibit single tightening. After tightening, manually rotate the crankshaft to ensure smooth operation without any jamming, and avoid interference between the valve and piston.
5、 Completion, debugging, and closure
Reset and install the pipeline according to the markings, and add qualified engine oil and coolant. Start the engine and let it idle, observe for any oil, water, or gas leaks, and check if the idle condition is stable. After checking for no abnormal noise or leakage, it can be put into trial operation on the road and all disassembly and assembly operations can be completed.
